A Registered Charity run primarily by volunteers, CUFOS is a community centre that is used by local people and organisations for classes, meetings, parties and many other activities. Currently there are 30 groups who use the building regularly, including Hilltop nursey; a French club for children; children’s classes in music and performance; classes for adults in art and Spanish; wind, brass, and jazz bands, plus drumming sessions; baby development sessions; phonics for children; sound therapy sessions; yoga classes; Indian cultural group; Alcoholics Anonymous; the Haringey-Livry Friendship Association; the Multiple Sclerosis Society; and the Alexandra Women’s Institute.
CUFOS is open seven days a week and is wheelchair-accessible. The building is used by regular groups during the week and sometimes at weekends. It is available for hire at weekends for private events such as children’s birthday parties, adult or family parties, christenings, wedding and fund-raising events. Please note: CUFOS is run almost entirely by volunteers. There is no office at the building; those who look after it do so out of their homes. Telephone and email messages are dealt with as quickly as possible, but please do not expect a 24-hour service.
